Hi Could someone please post the FDA's Letter to Charles Casebeer. I used to have this years ago, but then I think it was removed from the FDA's site when LASIK victims started downloading it. What better place to preserve it than here. If I remember correctly, the letter states that the FDA was unable to verify that the data submitted by Casebeer was even real.

Does anyone have the letter discussed above? If so, will you please post?

thanks for finding it for me. my favorite part of that letter is

There was no verification that the data submitted by the clinical investigators matched source data at the site. Data verification was performed by the computer data service, xxxxxxxxxand involved scrutinizing the data for such errors as out-of-range data, field entry omissions, exam dates out-ofrange, and missing exams. This process could not verify that the data entered into the computer system was an accurate record of the source data at the site.

in other words, the fda wasn't even sure that the data casebeer submitted was real.

then again, it's likely that very little of the data submitted to the fda was real, since laser manufacturers exclude patients with poor outcomes from their studies.
