According to Dr Seibel http://www.vision-surgery.com/normal-vision.html vison greater than 20/15 is achievable with Wavefront Lasik.

"Better than 20/20
You can also have vision that is better than normal. If a person has 20/15 vision they would be seeing at 20 feet what a normal person sees when standing 15 feet away from the chart.
Hawks, owls and other birds of prey have much more acute vision than humans. Although a hawk has a much smaller eye than a human being, it has more cones packed into that space and two foveas. A hawk's vision is eight times more acute than a human's: a hawk might have visual acuity of 20/2! However, with today's Wavefront technology, it is possible for human eyes to achieve 20/15 or better"

If vision of 20/2 sounds too good to be true, then check out this book by Lasik surgeon, Matthew Ehrlich and learn "How to See Like a Hawk When You are Blind Like a Bat"

How to See Like a Hawk When You're Blind as a Bat : A Patient's Guide to LASIK Laser Vision Correction Board certified ophthalmologist and corneal surgery specialist, Dr. Matthew Ehrlich, has created the most current and complete guide to LASIK Laser Vision Correction -- a safe and permanent eyesight correction technique that is experiencing explosive growth among millions of Americans (virtually doubling in popularity every year).

This easy-to-understand book answers questions about laser vision correction procedures, their safety and cost, the success rates, recovery time, what different vision problems qualify for laser treatment, new and future technology, and exactly what takes place during the laser surgery process. And most important, it answers the overriding question whether laser patients can throw away their glasses and contact lenses forever...

Both of those are illegal (false, misleading). Report them to the FTC. If you don't want to, I will.

I thought lasik could get better than 20/20 but the more I read, the more hype and exaggeration it sound. Maybe on paper it makes sense, but the eye is a complex, dynamic system. They can say all they want about so called 20/10 super vision, too bad they cant deliver since all laser surguries actually damage every eye and induce more aberrations. I can see something entirely new possibily giving super vision, but its not lasik. Maybe wavefront glasses?

i thought wavefront glasses had problems with centration and had to be rigidly mounted to the face to work.

You are right LT, wavefront glasses don't work for some of the reasons you mentioned!

Has anyone reported these abuses to the FTC yet? We can't let this slide!

TotallyScrewed, thanks for finding this noxious material and posting it - sunlight is the best disinfectant and this rot needs some exposure.

By the way, in order to leave the cornea prolate like an eagle or a hawk, much tissue must be removed from the periphery of the ablation, leaving the cornea thinner and weaker than with traditional LASIK. Traditional LASIK destroys the prolate cornea, giving you NOT eagle or Hawk vision... more like FROG vision.

A flattened cornea is no longer an effective light-gathering surface.

Refractive surgeons, wake up and smell your patients' burning tissue. You are damaging every eye you touch and it needs to stop.
