Now that Bush has made that statement about lasik, see totally screwed's posting. Should we not all take the opportunity and write our congressman and senators and send them the list of bad lasik web sites?
I live in Texas and am having a hell of a hard time getting anything to my congressman.

But our elected officials have to know and they are probably the only ones that can start doing some type of investigation.
I know alot of you have been suffering longer than I have, but everything I say or try, nothing seems to help and I am giving up.
It is not worth staying around to try and make a difference when those that have not been hurt do not care. Why, because it was an elective procedure.
This will probably be my last attempt. I am tired, physically, emotionally and mentally.

It's exhausting dealing with a post-refractive disaster emotionally, however perhaps with some time and some rest your zeal to make a differnce will return. I hope so.

I've written everybody I can think of, all the way up to President Bush.

Maybe a focused internet approach may be better...using...

1. Websites like this!
2. Internet posting of articles in search-engine frinedly places so that patients will be informed about surgeons when they use Google to check them out - hopefully *before* surgery.
3. Liberal distribution of lawsuits against surgeons who testify against patients.
4. E-mails, cc'ing people who will be embarrassed into action by the e-mail content and the knowledge that a 'group' has been made aware of the problem!
