?Recently, the choice between LASIK or one of the available surface treatment options has become more of a matter of surgeons preference,? he said. ?In spite of all the discussion about the pros and cons, there isn?t a lot of hard evidence to suggest that one technique is better than the other.?

"In making the choice, what really needs to be weighed is the balance between ?biomechanical issues and would healing issues,? he said."

?If you are more concerned about ectasia or about too many induced aberrations, those are issues that may make you less likely to want to do LASIK. On the other hand, PRK has the drawback of a more painful postoperative course, a slower visual recovery and haze,? Dr. Krueger said."

Instead of trying to choose the lesser of the two evils, just put your glasses on and smile at the instant crystal clear vision! :D

Lasik damages every eye! Lasik induces more aberrations, even so called "wavefront!" Stick to glasses!

Haze or a bulging cornea. Choose your poison.

Better yet, keep your glasses.

Broken Eyes

A flap that never heal or a cornea with Bowman's layer destroyed? Choose or not to choose?

A pair of ruined eyes = liability

A pair of healthy eyes = asset
