Wavefront guided enhancements assist in treating complications

Excerpt:

Dr. Steinert discussed issues and limitations associated with wavefront technology at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Summer Refractive Congress. He noted that while wavefront technology is widely used for enhancement procedures, researchers have had inconsistent results using the technology on optically challenged corneas.

Why am I not supprised? Considering that all forms of laser surgury induces aberrations and distortions, how do they expect to clean the mess they made? All an enhancement can really do is correct what glasses can(there are attempts at correcting central islands and irregular astigmatism but its unreliable and inconsisant) and in some cases widen the optical zone at the expense of making your cornea much thinner :?

I know someone online who got traditional lasik and now has highly aberrated vision and sees poorly except in bright light. He looked to wavefront for enhancement and the surgeon admitted that they could not fix HOAs! He would have to deal with it for the rest of his life. How ironic is this? wavefront does not live up to its promise! All wavefront does/can do is induce slightly less aberrations than traditional!
